Sedation Information:

For anyone who might be anxious, we offer several different forms of sedation for your comfort.  The Doctor may prescribe a sedative pill which you can take before your appointment and/or nitrous oxide sedation (also known as “laughing gas”).  With this type of sedation, there are no restrictions which require that you fast prior to your appointment.  We have found that these options work well for most anxious patients.  They are also very efffective at dulling the gag reflex.  Additionally, we are one of only a handful of dental offices which offer intravenous sedation, also known as twilight sleep. It is available for all types of procedures for patients who are very anxious. IV sedation provided in our office is similar to what you would receive in a hospital operating room, as we monitor EKG (heart), respiration, blood oxygen saturation, and blood pressure. Patients must have no food or drink after midnight preceding your appointment, and you must have someone to drive you to our office and home again.
